Destination, less. Process, more.
It’s often said the if something isn’t growing, it’s dying. There is no stagnant “just chillin” phase because we are all required to play by Time’s rules and because, due to the concept of time, every single moment is different than the moment before, anything that is the same for more than one moment and lacks progress is considered to be experiencing regression.
With that said, I think that a lot of people start to panic when they feel that something in their life (or even themselves) is not progressing as fast as they think it should be. (Relationship not moving at lightning speed? There must be something wrong with it. & etc.) Many people forget how to enjoy the moment and savor the growth process. If you think about it, where are you even trying to get to so fast? What is the ultimate destination that you are trying to get at?
Sometimes, most times, actually, progress comes slowly. Sometimes, you don’t even notice it. You don’t realize it until it’s been some time and you look back and are surprised to realize that everything is wonderfully different than before. And even, then you’re still growing. I feel like that is the best kind of growing experience. Because usually, things that take longer to build are terribly difficult to ruin.
It’s all about the process, man. :)
